NewJeans’ Danielle Steps Off Stage and Into a Running Challenge—What Are the Other Members Up To?

Group NewJeans’ Danielle is set to take on a running event.

Recently, Sean shared on his personal social media, “An 8.15km fun run with Danielle and Coach Lee Yeon-jin. Coach Lee gave Danielle a personalized running lesson and special training,” adding, “Danielle, now that your first 10km race is set, I’ll help you get ready. Don’t worry about finishing within your goal time.”

In the accompanying photo, Danielle flashes a “number one” sign with her fingers, looking refreshed and satisfied after a run with Sean.

With NewJeans currently on hiatus, fans have had few updates about Danielle. However, she has been sharing occasional glimpses of her life through Sean’s social media. Every time Danielle appears in Sean’s posts, NewJeans fans flood the comments with messages like, “It’s great to see her looking healthy,” “Hope to see you happy again soon,” “Danielle fighting! Thank you, Sean,” and “I can’t wait to see NewJeans again.”



Danielle has been running with a crew that includes Sean and Park Bo-gum. Sean, in particular, has been actively supporting Danielle’s running journey. Previously, Sean praised her, saying, “She finished 10km in 56 minutes with ease. The last 1km was a build-up, finishing the final 100m at a 4:15/km pace. Danielle is a promising runner—if she enters a 10km race this fall, I think she could achieve a great record.”

Naturally, fans are also curious about what the other NewJeans members have been up to.

Back in May, Minji made headlines by making a surprise visit to a birthday café organized by fans. Later, on a social media account created independently by the members, she wrote, “I feel like my days have been busier than I thought. Before I knew it, it was already May and my birthday had arrived. There’s so much I want to say, but my mind is a bit tangled, so I can’t organize my thoughts well. I just want me, our members, and Bunnies (the fandom name) to be happy. That’s the biggest goal in my life—happiness.”

She continued, “I really miss the days when we came together through good music and shared our feelings, but I’m always looking forward to what’s next. We haven’t stopped here, and we won’t stop! It might seem like we’re standing still, but I believe we’re growing deeper.”



Although the NewJeans members have been communicating with fans through their independent social media accounts, their last posts were back in May. This has made fans even more eager for updates from Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. Last month, on the group’s third debut anniversary, a congratulatory post was uploaded to the official account run by ADOR, but the members themselves did not post any personal messages.

Meanwhile, last November, NewJeans announced the termination of their contract with ADOR and HYBE, citing a breakdown of trust. In January, ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with the NewJeans members, as well as an injunction to prohibit them from signing new advertising deals or acting as planners.

The Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) ruled entirely in favor of ADOR’s request. As a result, until the legal proceedings are concluded, NewJeans is unable to pursue independent entertainment activities.

As summer arrives, more and more listeners are expressing their longing for NewJeans’ hit summer tracks like “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “Super Shy,” and “How Sweet,” which were released during previous summers and received immense love.
